Who Is DDF
Our organization originally started as a sisterhood of 17 bold, creative, goal-driven woman that eventually turned into a partnership of 7 woman. Those 7 woman created the very name that is known by you called Diversified Direction Foundation. That same team came together to start our very own performance arts program while assisting our homeless community with everyday essentials. Just like any other business we had our own struggles which untimely lead to only two of continuing the path that God had predestined for us. Tangela & Kristal prayed and learned from mistakes along the way to get to where we are and is still learning. We officially got our 501c3 October of 2019 and have been running every since. We went from a two man team back to seven within a matter of months. We have expanded from a 3 program entity to now 5 plus our sub-programs. Everything we do is for our community and nothing less. We believe that children are naturally creative and that its our job to grant them the space to be creative and blossom. Although we have only been operational for only a little over a year, this vision has been the brains of visionaries founders, Kristal & Tangela Gay. Our organization has assisted over 200 plus individuals with plans to reach a even higher number in years to come. As a team our diverse staff of teaching artist have invaded the arts in education bringing dynamic programming which aid in bridging the gaps in the core curriculum. We have been fortunate to build a partnership with these communities: The City of Lancaster, Dallas, Cedar Hill and Desoto. By working with the city of Dallas we have been able to provide Art programs to Dallas Housing Residents who may have limited to no opportunities to be apart of Art programs outside of the school systems. Our organization has given the kids a safe place to express themselves while turning to us for mentorship. DDF's quote to the kids is "Your current situation doesn't have to be your future situation". We believe that if we continue to provide them with tool pertaining to their creative talents while teaching them a little about Family and Consumer Science. It is DDF's vision to continue to invest into our communities DHA facilities but also schools and learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities for children in the DFW and surrounding areas.
